Over the last several days I have tried to be open. To communicate and to appreciate the beauty, the solitude, and the peace that you have to offer. But, I am starting to question your intentions. Here we are just barely into December and you are already throwing your best stuff at me. I am starting to feel a bit like Lieutenant Dan in Forrest Gump when he decides to take on the “storm” while on the shrimp boat. “You call this a storm? Blow you son of a bitch! Blow! It’s time for a showdown! You and me! I’m right here! Come and get me! You’ll never sink this boat!”
You call this winter? Go ahead. Blow and snow all you want. In fact, bring on record snowfall and record cold temperatures and record wind chills. I’ve got your number. You will not win this year. No matter what you throw my way. I am not giving in. Nope. So go ahead – give me your best stuff. And I will see you on the other side. For what it’s worth.
